Kia Electric SUV: EV9 near Charlotte NC

Kia EV9 Charlotte NC

Kia has released the pictures of its production ready EV9, and it looks plain glamorous and grand in every possible way. Despite having a boxy layout, the three-row SUV promises to be at par with some of the biggest names in the EV market. Even though we need to wait for the official figures to be shared by Kia, everything about the EV9 ticks all the right boxes and is perfect for Charlotte, NC area families looking for an all-electric SUV. The 2024 Kia EV9 will be a serious contender in both the three-row SUV segment as well as the EV segment.

Even though Kia has not said anything about pre-ordering the EV9 as yet, Dutch Miller Kia of Charlotte can put you on our pre-order list. The fact that Kia has released these pictures just months before its official launch means that this EV9 will be almost identical to the production version that will start rolling off the production line in South Korea soon. Based on Hyundai’s dedicated EV platform which it calls E-GMP, the EV9 will offer various different set of combinations to suit everyone’s needs.

One look at the Kia EV9 and you know it’s big. The Electric Global Modular Platform is powerful enough to support wheelbase of over 118 inches, and the EV9 looks surely bigger than the Kia Telluride which in itself a big three-row SUV. The EV9 has a larger wheelbase than the Telluride despite being a little short in length. This allows the EV9 to have more space on the inside than the Telluride. Yes, the EV9 concept Kia showcased for the first time had suicide doors with no B-pillar, but that’s gone in the production ready version.

The looks of the Kia EV9 might not be in sync with the low-riding and more aerodynamic electric SUVs that we see usually, but of a pureblood SUV. The bold stance of the EV9 gives it the character of a large SUV, and an immense road presence. The front of the EV9 does look visibly different than a usual SUV, and this is where it looks more EV-like with a covered panel instead of a usual grille. One look at the profile and you know that the Kia EV9 is a large SUV, and the 21-inch wheels just fit effortlessly with the overall appearance

Similar to any other flagship EV from other carmakers like BMW or Mercedes, the inside of the 2024 Kia is where things are more noticeable. The three-row E-SUV will be offered in both six and seven-seater options. The second-row occupants will have the option to sit facing forward or rearward thanks to the 180-degree swiveling seats. This will not only allow the occupants of the second row face the passengers in the third row, it will also make ingress and egress easy for the people in the third row. However, the third row of the Kia EV9 does get its set of cup holders and charging ports for their mobile devices.

Thanks to the E-GMP platform, the floor of the EV9 will be flat and will give a sense of much more space, hence increasing the comfort quotient. A combination of two 12.3-inch touchscreens will work together where one will act as the instrument cluster and other as the infotainment unit. Apart from the AC controls and a volume knob, everything else is just one ‘touch’ away via the infotainment screen. Yes, the interiors are not as insane as they were in the concept EV9 that was showcased back in 2021, but it was expected to happen due to practical reasons. According to the pictures released by Kia, there will also be an option for a dual sunroof as well.
