2023 KIA SPORTAGE OVERVIEW
The Sportage is a small crossover from Kia that is not as large as the Sorento but larger than the Seltos. It seats five, boasts an upscale appearance and delivers a fun driving experience that Car and Driver magazine calls “charming.” The 2023 model soon available at Dutch Miller Kia of Charlotte ushers in the fourth vehicle generation and arrives with a number of notable updates, including more technologies and amenities. Kia has also opted for a new trim lineup. This includes X models featuring a more rugged appearance and even off-road-oriented mechanical enhancements. There are seven trim levels altogether, and these include the LX, X-Line, EX, SX, X-Pro, SX-Prestige and X-Pro Prestige.

Kia had expressed early on that it was taking a bigger is better approach without pushing the 2023 Kia Sportage out of the compact space. The wheelbase has been lengthened to 108.5 inches, which is an increase of 3.4 inches. The overall length has also been extended from 176.4 inches to 183.5 inches. That means that the Sportage is now about 15.3 feet in length. Kia has also introduced new wheel designs. All models will have alloy wheels. We expect the wheel sizes to range from 17 to 19 inches. The off-road-oriented models will probably have 17- or 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires.
INTERIOR - 2023 KIA SPORTAGE IN CHARLOTTE NC
As of this 2023 Kia Sportage review, Kia has released photos of the new interior but has not provided the final dimensions. We expect front headroom and legroom to be the same at approximately 38 and 42 inches, respectively. Kia has said that the new model boasts more rear legroom. Since the previous model had about 38 inches, we are expecting about 40 inches. Kia has also stated that there will be more dedicated cargo space. The current model provides about 31 cubic feet, which is already rather good, so we are excited to see how much more Kia engineers were able to squeeze into the design.
KIA SPORTAGE MECHANICAL SPECS
As with the previous generation, our Kia dealership serving Belmont Concord Gastonia Charlotte Pineville Huntersville North Carolina and Rock Hill Fort Mill South Carolina will offer the Sportage with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For the standard models, front-wheel drive will be standard, and all-wheel drive will be optional. We do expect that all-wheel drive will be standard on at least some of the X models, but those details were not available yet.
POWERTRAIN - KIA DEALERSHIP IN Charlotte North Carolina
Kia will offer two powertrains. The standard powertrain will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 187 horsepower. With trailering equipment and trailer brakes, this engine can tow 2,000 pounds. Drivers who want a more powerful engine or simply prefer a hybrid can opt for the hybrid powertrain. It pairs a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor, and those combine for 226 horsepower. The hybrid Sportage can also tow 2,000 pounds with the proper equipment, which is available as an option.
SAFETY - 2023 KIA SPORTAGE DEALER
The base package for the 2023 Kia Sportage will include the latest Uvo infotainment system with Kia Connect with voice recognition and Android and Apple device integration. An 8-inch touchscreen will be standard. A 12.3-inch touchscreen will be optional and included with the top trim levels. The vehicle will also have a 12.3-inch instrument panel, which connects to the touchscreen seamlessly. As for driver-assistance technologies, the Sportage has been one of the most well-equipped vehicles in the class for a long time, and that will continue. Most features will be standard. One of the new options will be a smart parking system that you can activate remotely via the key fob or even your smartphone.
