2023 Kia Telluride X-Pro - Charlotte NC

Kia has announced new 2023 Telluride X-Line and X-Pro models that add some extra off-road capability to the Telluride. The X-Line is more of a styling pack, though it adds handy features like roof rails, 10 millimeters of extra ground clearance, and a Tow mode that includes sway control and also adjusts the transmission's shift program. It also adds 20-inch wheels.

The X-Pro is a bit more serious, bringing the same features of the X-Line, though swapping in 18-inch wheels with Continental all-terrain tires, plus 5,500 pounds of towing capacity instead of the 5,000 pounds of other grades. Tellurides are also available with self-leveling rear suspension.

There's been no change in the powertrain department. The Telluride is offered exclusively with a 3.8-liter V-6 rated at 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic and can be paired with either standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. AWD-equipped models come with the extra drive modes Snow and AWD Lock.

All 2023 Tellurides get restyled headlights and taillights, new bumpers, a new grille and different wheel designs. Inside, the dashboard is topped by a new curved housing that incorporates a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an optional 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. A new steering wheel and air vents round out the tweaked appearance.

The '23 Telluride continues to use Kia's 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, and buyers can choose between front- and all-wheel-drive configurations. Traffic sign recognition is now standard, as is a more robust forward-collision avoidance system that works to detect oncoming vehicles when turning left at intersections.
